Permanent Camp is a celebration of living in and observing the natural wonders of the Smoky Mountains in Western North Carolina. Through poetry and prose, respected regional naturalist George Ellison reflects on more than 30 years of life with his wife as they raised family and earned a living as a writer and painter, respectively, on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. George's authentic and musical voice is complimented by his wife's evocative watercolor landscape art.
